For many goods, ambient conditions during transportation are crucial, and shipments tracking is of a great help. Shipment is the main entity of the Moeco platform. It is any unit of transportation that should be tracked. However, before tracking a shipment, you need to link the Moeco sensor to it. There are two ways to do that:

  • Via the logistics dashboard;
  • Via the Moeco app.

Creating a shipment

Creating shipments via the logistics dashboard is for those employees who, for example, are outside the warehouse facility.

Adding a new shipment

  1. Go to the logistics dashboard > Locations.
  2. In the shipments table, click .
  3. In the pop-up window, enter the mandatory information into the fields present.
  4. Click Create. Adding a new shipment

A new shipment gets added and opens for further editing.

Adding sensors to a shipment

Each shipment can contain several sensors that can be added either right after shipment creation or later.

If you’ve just created a new shipment, skip the first two steps.
To add a sensor to the shipment:

  1. Go to the logistics dashboard > Locations.
  2. Open the shipment you want to add sensors to.
  3. Above the sensor stats table, click .
  4. In the pop-up window, start entering any part of the sensor number and then select the necessary sensor from the dropdown list. You can find the number on the sensor sticker.
  5. Click Add and activate. Adding and activating a sensor for the shipment

To add more sensors to the shipment, repeat the actions described above.

The sensor gets added to the existing shipment immediately. The sensor initial data are available in the dashboard within approximately 6 minutes after sensor activation (depending on the sensor type). This is the first transaction that shows shipment state right after sensor start.

Adding destination to the shipment

Destination is a crucial parameter that you must set for each shipment. If the destination is known, the Moeco platform will notify you via email as soon as your shipment arrives at it. Each shipment final destination is set as a waypoint. Waypoint is an entity that represents some point along the shipment route.

If you’ve just created a new shipment, skip the first two steps.
To add destination to the shipment:

  1. Go to the logistics dashboard > Locations.
  2. Open the shipment you want to add destination to.
  3. Click .
  4. In the pop-up window, click Add destination.
  5. Enter the waypoint name, for example, München.
  6. Enter the destination address. To do it the quick way, use the suggestions drop-down.
  7. Click Save destination. Adding destination to the shipment
