For many goods, ambient conditions during transportation are crucial, and shipments tracking is of a great help. Shipment is the main entity of the Moeco platform. It is any unit of transportation that should be tracked. However, before tracking a shipment, you need to link the Moeco sensor to it. There are two ways to do that:

Using the Moeco app

The Moeco app is the most convenient way to link sensors to shipments because you use your Android or iOS device and spend just a couple of minutes on each unit. To add a shipment for tracking, do the following:

  1. Attach a Moeco sensor to the shipment.

  2. Open the Moeco app. If you’re using the Moeco app for the first time, see how to set it up.

  3. Tap Add sensor. If you’re using the app for the first time, grant the Moeco app access to your device camera.

  4. Scan the sensor QR code. The shipment details screen opens.

  5. Tap Destination and enter it using the auto-complete list of addresses.

  6. Tap Shipment ID and enter any unique string that identifies the shipment.

  7. Tap Pallet ID and enter any unique string that identifies this part of the shipment. Make sure that all the parameters are set successfully and have a green check mark next to them.

  8. Tap Start tracking. The sensor gets added to the recently used list.

The sensor gets activated and the shipment tracking starts. In the application main screen, you can see a list of all sensors that you’ve activated with recently added sensors at the top. For two last added sensors, you can see a short information—the shipment number and destination. Tap the other sensors to expand information on them.

  • If you have no more shipments to add, leave the app.
  • If you have other shipments to add, tap Add one more sensor and repeat the steps described above for each new sensor.

Using the logistics dashboard

Even if you’re outside a facility, you can still add shipments for tracking by using the logistics dashboard. To do that:

  1. Go to the logistics dashboard.

  2. In the top bar, click Add shipment.

  3. Enter the shipment name. It can be any unique string that identifies your shipments.

  4. Start entering any part of the sensor number and then select the necessary sensor from the dropdown list. You can find the number on the sensors sticker.

  5. Enter the final destination of your shipment. To do it the quick way, use the suggestions drop-down. When a shipment arrives at the destination, you’ll be notified via email.

  6. Enter the ID of your shipment pallet. It can be any unique string that identifies your shipment units.

All parameters except for Destination are mandatory for adding a shipment. Make sure you’ve added a sensor number, pallet ID, and shipment ID before proceeding.

  7. Click Add and activate.

Linking a sensor to a shipment via the logistics dashboard

After sensor activation, the shipment appears in the logistics dashboard. The sensor initial data are available in the dashboard within approximately 6 minutes after sensor activation (depending on the sensor type). This is the first transaction that shows shipment state right after sensor start.

Adding more sensors to a shipment

If your cargo includes several packages with a separate sensor each, you can add them all to the same shipment. To do that in the logistics dashboard:

  1. Go to the logistics dashboard.
  2. Above the table, click Add shipment.
  3. In the Shipment name field, start entering the name of the shipment you want to add a sensor to. Select the necessary shipment from the drop-down.
  4. Enter other shipment parameters.
  5. Click Add and activate.

To add one more sensor to the same shipment in the Moeco app:

  1. Tap Add one more sensor.
  2. Scan a QR code of the sensor that you want to add to a shipment.
  3. Into the Shipment ID field, enter the number of the shipment you want to add a sensor to.
  4. Enter other shipment parameters.
  5. Tap Start tracking.

A sensor gets added to the existing shipment immediately. To view a sensor, click the shipment it belongs to.
